How to do heritage (with no blazer)

One of the biggest trends now is the heritage check. I love how this country vibe prints looks so chic and elegant. Worn with modern pieces it looks contemporary and cool. Although I love Downton Abbey - I don't want to look like an extra in a hunting scene :-)  :-)

A checked blazer is on my wish-list, but till I find a well-fitted piece for my shape and taste – I want to try some other ways to incorporate the trend into my existing wardrobe.

I thought that a top or a scarf is a good place to start to work the trend into my look, and I found it easy to style these pieces since I have chosen checks in black-grey-white colours. They just give a bit of extra, or edge to my look. Actually, I could imagine to wear checks with a bit of red, burgundy or blue. Have seen checked blazers with mustard colour in it - not for me!
