White crisp shirts and tops
I'm addicted to crisp white shirts. They are a wardrobe “must have” for me. I can never have too many. They are chic, they go with everything in my wardrobe, I feel that they elevateyour style and you instantly look pulled-together.
They can be dressed up “meeting-style” if that’s the case, or worn with white trainers and jeans as a perfect everyday look. You can really create your own personal style with them and work them into your own wardrobe.
But it’s a challenge to find the crisp white tops and the way to wear them that work for me. If I tuck them I become bulky, if I wear them untucked it often looks sloppy or frumpy. I keep experimenting with them because I love them.
Nothing is more classic than a simple white button-down or top, but today there are many variations of this closet staple and they can be quite different. I have a few classic ones in my wardrobe but this year I really went for these with a little extra: bow tie sleeves, side cut (you can tuck in), bow details and off-the-shoulder. Varying cuts, fabrics, and design details give them totally distinct vibes.
Sleeves have almost become an accessory in themselves in recent seasons, the bow details give an extra feminine touch.
The white shirt with a twist! This shirt is oversized with raw edges at the collar and split on the side. You can tie it up creating your own knot-detailing – one of last year’s biggest trends.
I love them tucked in too. They look efortless and cool.
This off-the-shoulder version is crisp and chic with the bow-tie in the front. Although the top is really cute I see that this length is not ideal for me - I am a bit boxy in it :-)
The cut-off on the shoulders and the broderie anglaise makes this top interesting.
The split on the sleeves on this off-the-shoulder gives the top a cool factor and the lightweight cotton top creates a flowing silhouette.
