Stylish in the heat

Looking stylish in the heat is not easy. Especially if you need to go to an event and you do not want to show up in shorts and a t-shirt. There are many family get-togethers throughtout the summer holiday and it is a challenge to feel put together and stay chic when it is so hot outside.

Even if it is 35 degrees Celsius, I try to mantain my personal style, be chic but effortless and not overdressed. You will never see me in girly, frilly florals from top to toe :-)

To find the outfit that’s both heat-wave-proof and family-occasion appropiate I start with a basic cotton skirt and I add some interest with a crisp white top. The skirt is simple and lets the top do the talking. The off-the-shoulder works well and makes a chic combination with the classic skirt. A pair of lace-up espadrille wedges in natural fabrics both look and feel good. In summertime, I go for breathable fabrics like thin cotton or linen.

I keep the two colour rule through the whole outfit, the blue-white tones are classic and timeless. It is cool, but you feel like kind of sophisticated at the same time.

Finally, popping on a pair of sunglasses will finish the look.
