Stylish in the cold (layering 101)

It’s still a long way to go for spring. Even in January and February, in Norway, it can be really cold. Cold and snowy. It is not easy to look cute and stylish when it’s freezing. My trick is layering. Coat on vest. Coat on coat. Adding layers is easy, practical, and keeps you warm. These are my favourite outfits that are stylish in addition to being functional.

I like to add a light, long puffer on top of a polished look of tailored vest with fur and wool. I am staying warm but also looking and feeling stylish.

Another strategic combination is layering an oversized, masculin overcoat over a lightweight puffer. The puffer can be black or a bold (leopard) print. I love this outfit. It is so me.

The next outfit is an easy mix of sporty and dressed. The wool coat is not warm enough on its own in severe weather, but layered over a light puffer vest will keep you really warm.

When you can feel the cold in your bones it’s time for the long, heavy duty puffer.That’s the warmest. And I still have the puffer vest under it. This coat is belted, so it gives me a little bit of shape :-)
